Ordinary Scores

2026 · Participatory performance scores

These cards are invitations.

Each one offers a small action to perform. Some take only a few seconds. Others ask you to wait, to notice, or to imagine. They are intentionally ordinary because the action itself is not the point. What matters is the brief shift in attention that follows.

There is no correct way to perform these pieces. You may follow the instructions exactly, adapt them to your surroundings, or let them become something else entirely. You may perform them alone or with others, in public or in private. You may photograph or film the performance, or leave no record that it ever happened. All of these approaches are equally valid.

Nothing here should be taken too seriously. These are not tests, rituals, or challenges. They ask very little and expect even less. If a piece feels meaningful, allow it to be. If it feels absurd, that is equally welcome. If you stop halfway through, the piece is still complete.

The cards are meant to be encountered rather than mastered. Read one. Perform one. Ignore one. Return to another years later. Let chance decide. The only requirement is that, for a moment, you pay attention.
